  1. “Konpeito” comes from Portuguese word “confeito.” It was first introduced to Japan back in 16th century by traders. Some where even given to Oda Nobunaga

  2. Konpeito as everyone else said. Try rolling them behind your closed teeth with your tongue. It makes an interesting noise, but I don’t recommend doing it near others. It gets irritating quickly.
