In my extremely personal opinion, a joke must consist of common knowledge stuff. Ford (or any other American cars, which majority of them don’t even have the option to place the driver’s seat on the right side) is extremely uncommon in Japan, let alone a specific vehicle.
To make the joke understandable, there needs to be a concise explanation that *explains* there’s a vehicle by the name of “Ka” manufactured by Ford. By that point, the joke is more like a paragraph and it probably won’t be funny.
