Unifi G4 Doorbell Pro – compatibility

So, unifi now has the Pro version of the G4 doorbell in the Japan store, so I’m assuming it’s usable with Unifi system here without complaining about region (US vs. rest of the world). I already have UDM Pro and well networked home so…

But I’m completely clueless about chimes etc how they work.

G4 Doorbell Pro

The specs say:

power requirements
16-24VAC, 1.25A max., 50/60Hz
USB-C power cable, 5VDC, 2A

voltage range
37-57VDC

There’s no simple way I could bring more power or usb-c to the outside. I only have a simple push button from Panasonic that’s connected to two chimes inside:

https://www2.panasonic.biz/jp/densetsu/ha/signal/chime/products01.html

On the doorbell side there’s two pairs of very thin wires coming through the wall, I assume these connect directly to the chimes, but like I said, I know next to nothing how these work.

Could it be possible those wires could supply 16-24V AC, or some DC? No idea.

Is anyone using this or the non-Pro in Japan?

I also asked my builders electrician. They don’t want to make a comment because this is not a Japanese product.

  1. I had a old panasonic doorbell/ video intercom as well when I bought my place, and swapped it out with a nest doorbell (similar power requirements to your Unifi one).

I imported one of these [doorbell transformers](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QBVGVL6) then stuck it in the wall where the old video intercom was, and it works fine with Japanese mains voltage. I could wire it up no problem to the front door using the existing cables for the power and video left behind by the panasonic one.
