I’m mid level 7 on WaniKani. I’ve been loving it but at the same time, have grown disappointed that it’s not teaching me important vocab that I need in order to get immersed in simple/easy material.
I’m trying to remedy that by combining a Kitsun N5 vocab deck with BunPro but obviously I’m having to dedicate a lot of time to all of this SRS and it’s not fun. Trying to learn even five unseen vocab words from Kitsun is proving to be a struggle because I need to spend about 5 minutes with each of them to just try to memorize the new Kanji. That’s not counting reviews. So I’m up to about 2 hours daily of SRS and it will get worse. I can put my head down and just try to barrel through it, but I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations.

Can you explain what exactly what it is your doing? I don’t understand how it’s taking two hours.
Believe you me, I’ve experienced SRS burnout firsthand. It took me a very long time to pick it up again, and even then I reset my progress completely so I wouldn’t have to tackle a veritable wall of backlog.
Hats off to you if it doesn’t happen to you, just… Try your best to pace yourself for your own benefit.
