Orwell in Japanese

Hello! Could anyone tell me when George Orwell’s 1984 was first translated into Japanese, and how the word “unperson” was translated? Does Japanese have an equivalent of the “un-” prefix, or did the translator need to coin a new word? Thanks in advance.

  1. I checked two translations, 新庄哲夫 translated it as 非実在者 and 山形浩生 translated it as 非人.
