I tried the Gaimen Kirikae Procedure here in Okinawa. I passed today the written exam. But for the skills exam, did not. Is there anyone who have tried the procedure and get their license switch to Japanese License here in Okinawa? Any tips? They are very strict. Really wanted to pass the next skills exam.
About the written exam, as long as you know traffic signals and signs, you should be fine.

You need to memorize the course. Like you literally need to know each turn before they tell you, because you won’t have time to do all the mirror checks and whatnot otherwise.
I went to a driving school in Yomitan and paid a nominal amount to get a few hours of instruction on the mock course. Was able to pass based on that. (I also failed my first try doing it “cold,” with a mere 15 years of driving experiece)
Have you read _anything_ about this process? Do a search about it, and the first million results will be “I failed the practical test for the nth time”.
