  1. In Canada, though, they’re the ‘visible minority’ most likely to ‘marry out’.

“Japanese were by far the most likely to be in a conjugal relationship with a person from another group. Of the 32,800 couples in which at least one person was Japanese, 78.7% involved a spouse or partner who was not Japanese.”

Or as I’ve said to my wife, who’s Japanese, “Between this and Japan’s birthrate, you’re just not attracted to each other, are you?”

More accurately, NE Asians are treated as ‘socio-economically white’ in Canada, unlike many others. Also, Japan’s birthrate is very normal for a developed country.

  2. Wow I am pretty shocked at the responses to OP. They’re being downvoted for no apparent reason. I am part Brazilian and so I am aware of this, but no foreigner I have ever talked to knew of this. Even my Japanese teacher (who is fully Japanese) didn’t know the extent to which there are South American-Japanese

  3. Well, you’ll be probably surprised to see the amount of brazilians in Japan…

Edit: And I’m sure it’s more than 2 mi japanese-brazilians at all.

  4. I learned about the whole Brazil thing after a weekend at Roppongi. The Brazilian girls practically ran the place.

  5. I’m Brazilian and guys, please, stop downvoting OP.

He just learned something interesting and is sharing it with people, not everyone knows everything, even obvious things for some can be hidden for others.
