That god danngit technology. I’m split on this one. Of course making it easy to use my number for looking up health insurance is a good way to go. Requiring doctors to install a 5k device to do that is absurd. Ever heard of a computer and some internet, maybe a scanner? I can’t believe that there wasn’t a cheaper way to do this. It’s also surprising on some level that doctors, even older ones don’t have a spare 5k laying around though. I’m torn and can’t figure out which side I’m on here.
I stopped going to a bunch of clinics due to cash only policies..
Get with the time people!
So when you go to the hospital you’ll soon have to carry:
– The hospital card
– Your health insurance card
– Your My Number card
And of course they have to charge doctors 700,000 yen for a reader that can be done in a free smartphone app just like any bank out there is already doing.
If that’s not the poster child of inefficiency I don’t know what it is.
