These pics evoked some old memories. Thanks!
I can’t imagine living in one of those buildings that river is so damn beautiful
If you’re still there try heading east up into the mountains. There’s a temple in a very small town nearby called Nenko-ji. They have an oni skull. It’s one of the strangest things I’ve seen.
Was there on a homestay as a university student in 2008. The elementary school kids showed us a spot where they’d jump from a bridge into the river. Seemed way too high to be safe, which they just laughed off.

The Nagaragawa really is a fantastic river for swimming in, though. Crystal clear waters. Visited [Mino](https://i.imgur.com/LuIEHfl.jpg) further downstream several times later on and spent a lot of time just [hanging out](https://i.imgur.com/7VcLLEc.jpg) by the river, swimming and [drinking beer](https://i.imgur.com/m7dc141.jpg).
Since hachiman means 80,000 what does gujo combined with the number mean?
Finally, more of the rural beauty of Japan on r/japanpics.
Best place for Obon.
How’s fishing on this river?
What prefecture is that in?
As the great Liz Lemon once said- “I want to go to there…”
