Hi! I’d like to play videogames in japanese but I was wondering if there’s a way to be able to copy text from a videogame. Let’s say i want to play Persona in japanese and i want to copy the conversations, it’s possible.
It is painful, but I screenshoot every dialoge, crop it up and insert into Yandex translate. It works fine for most of the time. I play doki doki the same way
If you read visual novels, you can use textractor. After setting it up properly, it’ll automatically copy a line to the clipboard that you can then paste wherever. I use a spreadsheet to keep things organized. Don’t know of anything for video games.

You either use text hookers to pass the literal text on to external applications, or OCR like KanjiTomo which scans the picture on the screen and then attempts to make out the characters.

So you can run it through a translator?
