Excluding land price as I’d be having this built outside the major cities in a somewhat 田舎 area. Thanks in advance I know a few in here have built homes here ranging about 3500万円 for a 110-120 sqm home. This is obviously a bit bigger, but if you could give me any idea as to what you think it would cost I’d be very grateful. I also know securing the tiles for the roofing is gonna be one of the most challenging parts of doing this but nevertheless thank you in advance if you took the time to do this 🙇 forgot to mention this a rendering as I’m sure you know by seeing it.

With no details usually wooden residential construction costs are 70-150万/坪 depending on the vendor used and quality of materials/ equipment used. This price usually doesn’t include landscaping and furniture.

You really need to talk to an architect and/or a construction contractor. The price can range by an order of magnitude depending on the materials and such, and it varies over time, especially the last few covid years, due to huge fluctuations in raw-material costs.
I would say 1億円 or more for a custom built home that size with luxury options. The design is not very traditional 日本家屋 and looks challenging to achieve.
That’s going to cost a *lot* of money, why not buy something which already exists? There’s a LOT of old stuff like this in the いなか even abandoned.

and wood is really expensive now.
The lower sections look awesome, but those pagoda style thingys are awful.

them tiles are gonna set you back!
Almost impossible to guestimate, since you could be in a very cheap location with super expensive materials, or vice versa. But my WAG would be in the US1-3 million range.
This needs special contractors, the ones who are trained to work on temples. It also doesn’t make sense to build this with crappy wood, so, it’ll be made with hinoki to make it last.
You’re probably looking at 400-500 million yen, something like that.
