There used to be a magazine called Mangajin in the 90s.
There are 2 books called Mangajin – basic Japanese through comics 1 and 2. They are based on Magazines 1 through24.
Go to Amazon and get both for less than $100 total. I often get them for beginners.
You can also google them for cheaper prices.
You might be able to find the old monthly magazine on EBay.
I would never pay $100 to $300 a month unless in Japan.
