  10. Hi I’m late but I hope you can answer me because I’ve been wondering about this for a while now.

How do people practice instruments in Japan?

Living space is very limited in Japan and I’ve heard people are very cautious about not disturbing their neighbours (in a multi stories building) doing things like *talking with their normal voice at night*

So how do people practice and learn instruments after school / work without disturbing their neighbours?

I play the violin which can be heard 2 stories up and down from my room and violin is not comparable to trumpet for instance.

Curious because I intend to live in Japan in the future and want to keep practicing during the time.

  11. I lived in Osaka many, many years ago and have always been curious if they still say 何しとん?My host mother used to say it all the time. Pretty sure it meant, “what are you doing?”
