What would have happened with the taxi (anecdote of my Tokyo trip)

I went to Tokyo in 2018 with my husband and his family for a wedding (My husband’s cousin was the groom) everything was so nice, we had a blast in that wedding, but I just remembered this particular situation

The food was arranged in a orient and occident part, like several course meals, and every step had a particular drink, there was sake, japanese beer, wine, champagne… My husband’s aunt took every food with every drink and she was not used to drink, probably she didnt want to appear rude or something

She got drunk quickly and badly, we had to take a taxi from the reception to our Airbnb, I don’t know how far we were but I remember we paid like 40 dollars

The aunt started to feel really bad in the car and she almost vomit a couple of times, thankfully she didnt

What would have happened with the taxi? I’ve heard that drivers won’t let you help with luggage for example, one of the reasons is you can accidentally scratch the taxi and that is no bueno… I can’t imagine a vomit situation, any thoughts?

  1. Depends on the driver, but normally I’d expect: They stop, ask you to get out of the car, and charge you the fare so far + cleaning fees.

  2. Think it depends on the driver. I took in a friend that was visibly sick and the driver warned us that he would charge us ¥5000 if he threw up
