Small question, but our small question thread doesn’t appear to be sticky for daily use…
I just bought an outbound and return ticket for a trip by Shinkansen, and followed the procedure to link the tickets to my mobile Suica. I have confirmation emails, but I do not see anything listed in either my Apple Wallet or Suica apps. Is there a way to view the electronic tickets and confirm everything is linked correctly? I’m going to be a little bit of a hurry on the day, so want to make sure there are no problems, since this is my first time using the e-ticket system. Thanks.
To be clear, I can view them on the website, but not directly through the apps, which makes me slightly nervous.

no, you can’t view it. it will just work. when you scan your phone at the entry gate it will print a little blue receipt. the data isn’t in your “card” so to speak, the card ID is saved in jr servers or whatever for that trip segments. If you used smart ex website and your card id for mobile suica is correct, no problem. I’ve used it many many times without issue.

The only time that you will need to do anything extra is if you’re using multiple lines and one does not support the IC card option, e.g. a Limted Express line after a Shinkansen line. In that case, you can still load the IC parts onto the card, and will later get an email with a QR code to go to the kiosk and print the needed tickets for the other leg of the trip.

I had the same worry for a trip coming up, first time using this suica linking thing. So I did all the linking to my saifu-keitai/suica mobile, shows all fine in eki-net. But I also printed out a physical ticket at a kisok because I’m too anxious about whether or not it will work.
– The printed out ticket *says* “e-ticket” on it. I’m wondering, did the act of printing out this ticket invalidate the suica card for this trip? Or can I just use either?
– I assume if I can still use either, whatever I use, I need to use the same method for both entry and exit? (i.e. can’t physical ticket enter but suica exit?)
