While I do not mean to blame the victim for the harassment that happened, traveling in India by yourself as a woman is a VERY stupid thing to do. If she had done any research at all she would see this. Holi in particular is dangerous for women—you’ll notice that there are no women out on the streets during that festival because men use the chaos to grope women. I really hope this is understood here.

Trust me as an Indian, I hate these people as much as y’all do but we just cannot do anything about it. These asshats should die the worst way possible.

Hope assholes stop getting away with acting out in a mob, and any swift action against the perpetrators not be celebrated until stringent penalties start getting enacted

No way I’d be caught visiting a place like that. Like I get that not everyone is like that, but I wouldn’t want to take that risk lol
