This was at a sushi take away stand at the terminal train station in Rome just the other day. I was absolutely floored by the quality… because train station… in Italy? Coming from Westcoast Canada, where there’s probably more sushi than any other place than Japan itself, I can honestly say this was better quality than the majority of sushi at home (we have quantity, not necessarily quality). I watched the chef make it, however, so it was super fresh. Also, coming from BC where wild salmon is really popular, I prefer the Atlantic/farmed style salmon shown here due to the fattiness. Price was expensive for Italy, because it’s at one of the busiest tourist areas, but very comparable for the same thing in Canada ($$$). Surprisingly delicious!

Never thought I’d say this, but I miss Termini
decent salmon to go box
That looks great and a well balanced, substantial meal! I get the sense the Italians know how to eat with joy and sensibility.
