100mpbs hikari vs pocket wifi, which one is better

Hi everyone,

I am going to relocate but my new place only support 100mpbs hikari, so I am wondering is it better to use pocket wifi instead of hikari? I mainly use internet for remote work, and watch netlifx, prime so the data usage will be large and stability is necessary. In this case, which one will be better?

Thanks

  1. Hikari. Hikari is unlimited and reliable. Unlike pocket wifi which likely has usage limitations.

  2. I went a few months using pocket Wi-Fi instead of hikari and it was fucking awful. Just get hikari, there’s really no competition unless your only here for a short period.

  3. My place had limited internet options when I moved in but if you ask your landlord if installing another line would be fine usually the internet company will foot the bill for installation etc. I did this for two of my previous apartments as for a landlord it is a win win – free installation of better internet that can upsell the apartment for future residence.

  4. Didn’t know there was fiber at as slow as 100 Mbps, is it some shared line or something? Feels overkill with fiber if it’s only 100 Mbps, since regular broadband can handle it easily.

But yeah, it should be a lot more stable than pocket wifi, so it should be better.
