Hi, I’m trying to incorporate kanji writing as I learn kanji and i’m using Jisho for looking up the kanji. Am I supposed to write the big picture kanji version or the stroke order version?
I don’t understand what you mean? What is the “big picture” kanji and what is the “stroke order” version? And what is the difference you see?
Usually the stroke order version. The big one is as reference to see the finished Kanji clearly.
The stroke order one shows you how to get there.
Usually it starts top left and ends bottom right.
Can you share an example of what you’re talking about? My guess is that you’re looking at a kanji in a “computer” font vs an example of a handwritten one, but I could be wrong. Handwritten kanji tends to look different from what you see in computer fonts
If you’re using jisho.org, use the stroke order diagram, which shows how the character is typically written by hand. Handwritten characters are often a bit different from how they appear in computer or print typefaces.
