Hi! I’m really into electronic music (specifically dubstep and downtempo bass) and was trying to look up how to talk about my hobbies. My language skills are still far off, but my ultimate goal is to be able to still attend electronic shows once I move to Japan and make friends in the community.
So far, I’ve found the below options but I was wondering if there is a certain one that is used more? In the US there are different connotations to EDM vs. electronic music. Are there any such connotations in Japanese?

EDM is usually just EDM, no katakana required. 電子音楽 is definitely a broad term encompassing most genres of electronic music, but I don’t know how often it’s used. I usually hear more specific words like テクノ、 トランス、エレクトロ、ドラムンバース、ダブステップ etc…
The club Mogra has a discord server you could join. Lots of electronic music related discussions on there that might give you some clues.
I think Japanese just say “EDM” as you can hear in Wednesday Campanella video sung by Utaha.
Not exactly sure how it would be written in Katakana though as it sounds very much like English’s EDM.
