PSA: Mount Shosha Ropeway

Hi folks! Not sure if anyone wants to go up Mount Shosha Ropeway before March 31 but I wanted to and was going by the times on their website, which state they run until 6pm. Got there and they actually close at 430pm and this will be the case until the end of March. Thought I’d share as that way you can ensure that your Himeji daytrip can be the best you want it to be!

  1. It was close for maintenance not even a week ago, but I planned to do the hike so it was fine.

  2. Acutally, I believe the ropeway is fully closed until March 31st due to it’s annual maintenance. I think they have step up an alternative place at the bottom where people who are doing the temple pilgrammages can still recieve stamps, that is only open until 4:30 though.

    The English version of the website seems quite herrendously un-updated considering it’s one of Himeji’s main draws, aside from the castle.
