Toro Hamachi? I ordered it today but how do you differentiate between the belly and a regular piece of hamachi? Other one is Tai or Suzuki

  1. They served you the belly part of the yellow tail or Hamachi sashimi usually has a little blood attached when making sashimi were the Hamachi belly would be like what you were served,Toro comes from the fatty part of the bluefin tuna so (Toro Hamachi) is the wrong terminology hope this was useful 🤙🤙🤙

  2. The belly part of hamachi (or salmon, tuna…) will be extra fatty, so you’ll see more white fat marbling in it. Just a little harder to see at a glance with hamachi since it’s already light colored meat, whereas it contrasts better with other fish.
