Hi everyone,
Adrian here.
I run a startup building an AI language companion (Norby).
We were going to launch initially with English support, but I just got back from Tokyo, where there is a lot of demand to add Japanese.
I’ve linked to a quick demo video here:

I’m interested in getting feedback from the community.
What features would be most helpful on your Japanese language learning journey?

Whatever the hell 6番線の湯島駅 is. There’s no 6番線, [this is all it has](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tokyo-Metro_Yushima-STA_Platform1-2.jpg). Or maybe I misheard? Either way, google should do just fine for this purpose imo.
Idk, the way it lies about the details reminds me of ChatGPT…
I really appreciate you for making AI language companion. As a learner, I would want AI to be able to assess my Japanese level and give me lessons appropriate to my level as well.
However, I think the rule of thumb of inventing apps or devices in other language is that you should know that language or hire an employee native to that language in your company. Otherwise, you wouldn’t know if there is misinformation etc. as some people mentioned above.
