Is there something on my Itinerary that I should skip?

Hello everyone! I have an upcoming trip in late June for 10 days and I’m curious if there is anything in my Itinerary thats worth a skip? To be honest, I’m quite satisfied with majority of the places I’m visiting except for:

1. Mt. Fuji (because its very weather dependant & I’m going in June – no frosted tip)
2. Kappabashi Utensils Street (read on some forums that most items can be found elsewhere in Tokyo)
3. Asakusa Sensoji Temple & Nakamise shopping street (due to the insane crowds)
4. Flagship Uniqlo (we already have Uniqlo where we are from)

Here is my Itinerary:

***OSAKA***

**Day 1 -** Osaka Aquarium/Dotonbori

**Day 2 -** USJ/Shinsekai

***KYOTO***

**Day 3 – A**rashiyama Bamboo Forest/Fushimi Inari/Nishiki Market/Ninezaka & Sannenzaka/Kiyomizu-Dera

***OSAKA-TOKYO***

**Day 4 -** Osaka Castle (just outside)/Travel to Tokyo

***TOKYO***

**Day 5 -** Shimokitazawa/Gotokuji Temple

**Day 6 -** Daikanyama/Shibuya Scramble/Shibuya Sky

**Day 7 -** Meji Shrine/Takeshita Street/Cat Street/Omotesando

**Day 8 -** Tsukiji Fish Market/Flagship Uniqlo/Mitsukoshi Ginza/Akihabara

I’m very excited for this trip as it will be my first time in Japan! I am also aware that June is the rainy season but that is the only time this year that i can afford to go :'(

  1. I haven’t been yet, going in July, but I feel like your Kyoto day is way too stuffed, and you could probably fit more into most of your Tokyo days. If you haven’t booked hotels yet, you might want to add a day or two for Kyoto.

  2. I’ve visited kawaguchiko in April and September, frosted tip or not, the views of Mt fuji are stunning always, I 100% recommend visiting.

I will admit visiting in April I had the better view, but I first visited in September and I loved it so much I came back a second time. Both times I saw fuji unobstructed by clouds

Anything crazy busy, you can do early morning and you’ll be fine.

Personally visiting a Uniqlo doesn’t sound like a very exciting thing

  3. Kyoto is toooooo over planned. Pick your must visit location so that you can actually enjoy them

  4. I wouldnt skip Asakusa personally. I feel like there’s no point in going to Uniqlo, and Kappabashi would probably be more for the experience than anything (indeed you can find that stuff elsewhere. Knives especially are easily found in America )

  5. What are your plans for USJ? It’s a whole day if you want to do all the highlights imo. Which will also require an express pass/timed entry unless you plan on going at 6/7am.

  6. you could jam sensoji/asaka in your tsukiji day. start early since tsukiji is open early. hit asukusa next since there is a direct train. kappabashi isn’t far from there. then you could go back down to ginza if you really have to hit the dept store.

  7. Kyoto- cut out the bamboo forest as it’s far from the other things.

Choose either fushimi inari or kiyomizudera to arrive at EARLY because both will be crowded.
