I highly recommend you seek after JLPT N5-N1 books instead. If you’re just starting out in learning the language, get yourself Genki 1-2, both the textbook & the workbooks. I don’t like Genki for how slow it progresses. It takes 2 whole books worth of content just to learn how to say “before/after XYZ” but it does a damn fine job in getting your foundations settled.
