Any recommendations for listening practice? I’m familiar with the language but never tried to tackle the JLPT tests. I’m starting from the bottom and working my way up.
Like the title says. I’m looking for listening practice. In studying kanji and grammar already, but looking for N5/N4 level listening practice recommendations. Currently, I’m listening to JaoanesePod101 on YouTube.
Pimsleur is a great resource. It’s kind of expensive though so I recommend getting it from the library or some other free/cheap source
If you’re specifically looking for JLPT prep, do practices as well. The JLPT listening section has lots of trick questions and purposefully tries to confuse you. It’s also at the end when you’re the most tired. Imo it’s as much a test of your concentration abilities as your Japanese
I like to listen to “Let’s talk in Japanese” on Spotify, although I’m about N4, I listen to everything. Sometimes I don’t understand much since it’s for higher levels, always there are new words, it’s still nice though and good practice before getting into native material. Also, “Bite size Japanese podcast”, “Nihongo con Teppei”, Akane’s youtube channel and podcast (I don’t remember exact name) “Miku real Japanese Podcast” – there are longer conversations, it’s also interesting I think, maybe any of these will help you :>
