  1. I guess political assassinations are now in vogue?

    Thanks a lot Yamagami.

    Edit: /s, obviously.

  2. A similar thing happened before, when Emperor Heisei was crown prince, he went to a ceremony. There was a similar explosion at the ceremonial hall, although neither the Emperor nor the people at the ceremonial hall were injured. But I don’t think the culprit has been found yet.In the case of the explosion in Wakayama, the culprit seems to have been arrested, but I think the reason for the crime will become clear after the investigation.

  3. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://english.kyodonews.net/news/2023/04/cd6c270d9b57-urgent-japan-pm-kishida-unhurt-after-smoke-bomb-thrown-during-stump-speech.html) reduced by 80%. (I’m a bot)

  4. I know japan is relatively safe but maybe its time to adopt some secret service type precautions before an active PM gets shot or blown up…

  5. Did Kishada’s security throw a flash bang when they evacuated him or was there another bomber suspect?

  6. I mean until I saw the dude was holding an actual pipe bomb I was thinking to myself “finally some shakeup in politics”. This dude would have hurt many people with that thing, so big no no

  7. Japan really isn’t what it once was. I hope this doesn’t become a trend as more of the younger generation become more jaded and resentful.
