Japanese Alps in early May

Hi everyone. I need some advice on doing some mountaineering in Japan.
I’m looking mainly at the northern Alps, though open to other suggestions.

I’m heading back to Japan for work and have 5 days to do some mountains. Really love the nature there. I’ll be going solo, so would avoid anything too tough. Too tough would be serious avalanche exposure, or 2 meters of snow over the moutian shelters.

My main question is if the mountain huts are locked this time of the year, so that I can decide what sleeping system to bring. I’m struggling a bit to find info on the huts, and on the overal state of the routes.

If anyone has alternative suggestions to the Alps, I’d also appreciate it. I’m flying through Tokyo. I’ve been through some of the Kumano routes already though.
