The biggest tool recommendation for memorization is Anki which is a flashcard app that works on mobile, web, and computer. You can make your own cards on Anki or use a pre-built deck.
For the kana any deck really would work but you could try this one: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/3158257782

As for starting japanese in general I agree with everything in this video except how to learn kanji. I prefer the Migaku Kanji God addon for Anki instead of RTK. It makes RTK style Anki cards based on kanji coming up in your decks.

Practice. It’s only been a couple of days, just keep practising.
I liked the app “write Japanese” (on android). Or something like “Renshuu” gives cute pictures of something to associate the symbol to. Like な is a nun praying at a cross etc. Also has a bunch of other stuff in Renshuu too for after you learn the kana.
