How should I write “Toki” for a cat name?

Hi! Not sure if that is the right place to ask, but i’m currently seeking for advice from japanese-speakers about writing my cat’s name for a tattoo.

So my girlfriend and I have named our cat “Toki”, as in 時 for the precious and long time we are hoping to spend with him in this life.
I’m considering getting a tattoo about him, with his stylized face (he’s a tuxedo cat, so black and white and quite minimalistic) and his name written under.
Ideally I’d love to get his name written in japanese characters, but I’m not sure which writing would look the most “natural” : 時, とき or トキ?

I’ve recently become aware that トキ refers to a japanese species of ibis bird, but would that be the first thought of a japanese person when reading the word spelt in katakana?
Also, would 時 as a standalone kanji make any sense and feel like a name?

I know that japanese culture might not be very fond of tattoos altogether, but I’d like to at least avoid looking dumb with an improper writing of my cat name that would mean “ibis bird” to any japanese-speaking person.
