Language level is infant.
Decision making is elementary.
However, as you are none of the above you don’t qualify for a discount.
I do have a wild idea though, have you tried asking?
No.
I don’t think so. When they say university, high school, or whatever student they mean only those students. I don’t think a language school student applies, unfortunately.
you can try and ask. We used to get discounts on train tickets even though we were language students. Idk if it’s the same thing though.
If you have some sort of student ID you probably could get a discount. I think the main thing is being able to prove that you’re some sort of student.
Some people here are blatantly incorrect. When I was in language school I used the student option all the time. If anyone asks just show your zairyu card and point to where it says student. I had zero issues and I used the student discount at restaurants, movie theaters, etc.
I’m a student of life so I should probably start buying those tickets
Yeah, you can. I used it all the time when I was in language school . You just need to show them your student ID when u pay
It really depends on the policy at each place that offers a student discount. It may even be up to the discretion of the staff on duty. It never hurts to ask.
I had a student card. Use it to any student discount you want unless it’s specifically says 中学生 etc
when i was in language school, i always used the high school student discount at Toho Cinemas lol they give student discounts to all students regardless of nationality or type of school, as long as it’s recognized by the Japanese government
Yes.
I used it for basically everything
Most of the time, the younger staff won’t bother to ask if you buy from the ticket machine. They will just look at you and assume you are either a language/uni/technical school student and let you in. As long as you are not a trying to pass off for the middle school discount when you should be just taking the university student rate, things should be fine.
Other places like hair salons might even extend discounts for university students for foreigners studying in Japan, just have to ask.
If you got a visa student, yeah, just show your immigration card. If you’re a non-student resident going to a language school to learn Japanese, I doubt you’ll get it, unless you have some form of proof.
I have a student ID from a university in the US because I’m doing an online program and technically a student through them, and I’ve never once been turned away using it. In fact most movie theatres don’t really check thoroughly, but museums usually do. A student ID from a language school should be fine.
