Anyone know anything about Hoppa/BeFair?

They have some job postings on gaijinpot in both the Osaka and Tokyo areas and I was wondering what anyone might know of them. The ads say they are a big company but I haven’t seen any talk about them on here.

  1. Stable, mostly laid back, but not a lot of holidays (only the public ones, but you will work a handful of them). Not a full week during golden week, no Obon, about 5-6 days during New Year’s (including weekend). They will allocate 5 of your yuukyuu days, so you can only use the remaining. It’s mostly public nurseries, so you are kinda expected to know/use Japanese with the staff and understand some aspects of the culture. The principals of each nursery can be hit or miss, keep that in mind.

The pay is awful and non negotiable, but the bonus helps offset it a little (although you kinda have to commit to stay until it’s actually paid).

As you noticed, it’s a big company. Very conservative Japanese company with a lot of backwards rules and way or thinking/dealing with stuff.

You can become seishain after 3 years (automatically), or if you are willing to lick a lot of ass, your principal can speed it up and you can become seishain after your finish your first contract.

Not relevant to your question, but a while ago there was this guy who got a lot of bad attention on reddit/youtube. He was picking fights with strangers in the train/subway, while playing loud music. Anyways, he used to work for hoppa for like 7-8 years. Avrom (suspendas?). His photos/videos used to be featured in some of their marking materials lol.

  2. I have never heard of them, but they seem to have a lot of schools in major cities. I looked up their school review. The 3 reviews said, good co-workers, but extremely low pay and no housing support.
