Hello all! We are planning for a trip next spring to Japan (I know, we are overachievers and love to plan everything out way in advance).
We are 42(M) 42(F) and 11(F) and this will be our first trip to Japan. We want to see as much as we can, but also experience the culture. Also big Disney people, so both parks are must do.
We are staying 10 days (not including arrival or departure date) and wanted to see if this rough layout made sense?
Day 0, arrive at HND.
Day 1: explore Tokyo
Day 2: explore Tokyo
Day 3: Tokyo morning, then train to Hakone
Day 4: Hakone
Day 5: Hakone morning, then train to Kyoto
Day 6: explore Kyoto
Day 7: explore Kyoto
Day 8: Kyoto morning, then train to Tokyo Bay
Day 9: Disney!
Day 10: Disney
Fly home mid-morning on Day 11 from HND.

Is this a reasonable plan? I heard Hakone is beautiful, so thought of a stop there, but is 2 nights too long? I’d like to do Nara and Osaka and even Hiroshima, but I feel that might be packing too much in, we like to really get to know our destinations and don’t want to rush. Should we do 1 less day in Tokyo and go somewhere else too?
Any advice is welcome! We are globalist with Hyatt, and I have a lot of Hyatt points, so will be trying to stay in Hyatts as much as we can while there. For anyone else who is a Hyatt loyalist, are there any memorable hotels you recommend or that we should avoid?

I’d recommend just one night in Hakone and more time in either Tokyo or Kyoto, whichever you’re more interested in.
I’ve done almost this exact itinerary with visitors and they’ve said it’s too much moving around and not enough time to really get a feel for any of the places they visited.
