How have you ended up using all the Japanese you’ve learned?

Did you move to Japan and need it for work? Maybe you’ve used it to finally understand all the cool music you like? How have you ended up using everything you’ve learned?

  1. haven’t

edit: actually wait, I did play some of my favorite video games over again, but in Japanese

  2. Nah, I’ve learned it to read books from authors who study Medieval Japanese History, although I do still have to translate it from time to time.

  3. I spent some time with a Japanese account on twitter. Shared my art, talked to artists, talked to some game devs and we shared code and played each others games. It was pretty awesome. It was a lot of work though, as I’m still not that good at making my own sentences. I apparently did well, but you never know how nice people are being by just saying you did well. I also play my games in Japanese sometimes, and read novels and comics. But I’ve never had the chance to talk to anyone in Japanese.

  4. Getting major “Teacher when are we ever going to use algebra???” vibes from this post.
