  1. For both hiragana and katakana, Anki or another app that let’s you practice them frequently.

There’s no way to learn Kanji “fast” that also allows you to learn their proper usage.

  2. You can Speedrun learning Hiragana and Katakana by writing repetition and using a spaced repetition deck.

Learning Kanji is a slow process any way you approach it. For traveling you’d do better just learning vocabulary and picking up the needed Kanji as you go. If you absolutely need to learn Kanji, Heisig’s Remember the Kanji will give you a good system, to which you’ll have to add learning the readings and vocabulary.

  3. Hiragana and Katakana can be done in a weekend. Look them up (there are plenty of resources online) practice writing and reading through repetition.

Kanji on the other hand is a lifelong task, if you have access to language class, I’d recommend you do that. Having a good(!) teacher in the beginning will help you understand patterns and prevent you from forming bad habits. However, your learning pace will accelerate a lot once you have the system down.

There are some people around here who are absolute Anki machines and who shred hundreds of vocab a week. Really depends on your learning style. But a reasonable & sustainable pace for a beginner would be something like the first 100 Kanji in 1-2 months. But at a later stage you might be able to learn a hundred in a week.

  4. you can learn kana fairly fast with mnemonics from a day to a week at most, i recommend Tofugu’s kana guide

Kanji though… that’s a whole learning journey and there’s really no “fast” way to learn it
