Good Dim Sum at Yokohama Chinatown?

12 year expat here. Looking to take my family and kids to dim sum for their first time this GW.

Any good places? I come from New York Chinatown and ive been craving good, but not crazy expensive Dim Sum. (Golden Unicorn is my family’s go-to dim sum place)

Ive been to Manchinro Tenshinpo before. Great food, but a bit too expensive than what im used to.

Thanks for any suggestions everyone!

  1. You may also want to try asking in /r/Tokyo.

  2. There’s a place called Saiyuki (西遊記) that serves pretty authentic dim sum.

  3. Idk about Yokohama but there a 添好運 near Tokyo station. The 旺角 branch has a michelin star.

  4. I’d definitely recommend Chin Hai Shin 青海星

There’s 2 places in Yokohama of the same name but confirmed with the owner they’re the same. Really good food!

If you go there definitely get the Hakau (エビ水晶包)
I’d rate this to be the star there

  5. Ikebukuro (north side) has better, more authentic Chinese actually, it’s widely considered the REAL Chinatown, Yokohama CT is more of a tourist thing.

  6. u/biwook Sorry to tag you, but I thought maybe you might want to add this to the Tokyo sub for recommendations.

  7. Not in China town but I always go here when I want dim sum.

Din Tai Fung Landmark Plaza 鼎泰豐 横浜ランドマークプラザ店

In fact I’ll be going tomorrow.

  8. I love 山東 (Santon) in Yokohama Chinatown! Their suigyoza (boiled gyoza) is they’re speciality.

There’s 2 of the restaurants pretty much right next to each other. They serve the same things. It was popular so they expanded a while ago.

  9. Akasaka Rikyu Ginza has the best dim sum around. Sorry that it isn’t Yokohama.

Not sure if 300 yen ++ per piece is considered too expensive for you though
