yoyo fellow JETs. I want to watch a short, 30 min Christmas movie with my gifted class, but am technologically inept and seeking guidance from you, yes YOU! Know where someone can find some classics with Japanese audio/subs online/stream? Charlie Brown would be cool.

Thanks and Happy Holidays.

Youtube has the old Frosty the Snowman complete, and you can put on the autotranslated subs.
my low-level students loved it, even if it was a bit wierd sometimes.
The old how the Grinch stole Christmas.
Most of the Rankin/Bass films.
The Star Wars Holiday Special.
If you are really desperate you can show them Lifetime Christmas movies.
Spongebob Christmas special all the way
I showed my class the first 25 minutes of elf with Japanese subs. It was on Japanese Netflix but it got taken off and I had to buy it on Japanese YouTube. Very interesting to see that they don’t understand what elf’s are, or that why chewed gum is left everywhere in America. JTEs also enjoyed watching.
If they’re gifted, couldn’t you find something slow that they wouldn’t need subtitles for?
I would check your local video rental store as well as online. I used to live in the deep deep inaka and had a pretty good selection of movies to show my students for various holidays. Your English department should cover the rental fee if you ask in advance, but if for some reason they don’t it’s usually only about 300 yen.
All of the Charlie Brown Specials (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas) are on Apple TV+, so if you’ve got an iPhone/iPad/Mac…
Otherwise, you can buy new DVDs on [Amazon](https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/B00M0JU3G0) and used ones on [Bookoff](https://www.bookoffonline.co.jp/old/0015972727).
I found The Snowman (1982) online for free. It doesn’t have any words so it’s appropriate for any age and doesn’t need for translation. It’s about 25 minutes or so
The snowman or the grinch the old cartoon version.
Mickey’s Christmas Carol. It’s on D+, has Japanese subs, and is under 30 minutes. It’s also pretty good.
Annabel’s wish but I can’t remember how long it is
I’m showing my class Robin, Robin
32 min, freshly made, rated G
