Only?
this is very much a sensational article. having suicidal thoughts is completely different to being suicidal.
[the number of suicide in japan has tanked in the past decade and is sitting comfortably at 49th globally (US is at 31st in comparison) with 2019 stats by the WHO](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_suicide_rate)
edit: wording and more clarity.
I don’t know which Japan sub it is especially or all of them, but every time I talk about how there is a concerted effort to kill fun from the government, other areas of power, and even among the online gaijin community, I get downvotes.
And then a headline like this comes up, and I will once again state that there are a hell of a lot of people out there that seem hell bent to destroy all fun in this country, and probably get downvoted some more.
In fact, I think the fun killers are winning, and loving it. They love that so many are suicidal. And they only want more misery.
Doesn’t everybody have suicidal thoughts sometimes?
I would really like to see how the survey question was worded. There’s a huge difference between someone seriously contemplating suicide and someone having a passing thought about dying
Yeah no shit !
I’m 44 years old and I think about it !
Idk, it’s controversial, but sometimes I can’t help think, we had no choice when we were born, at least give us a choice to go when we want to go . So yeah I’ve had those thoughts too.
I have in emotional states of anger thought if I just died that would show mom! She would be so sad if I just killed myself…but I never have. Does that line of thinking count.. Because that would be like a pretty high percent of teenagers I do believe.
