Free Textbooks/pdfs for learning Japanese

Hi everyone,

Anyone know of any websites that have free textbooks or beginner fiction books/manga for studying?

Apologies if this has been asked before.

Thanks in advance.

  1. This isn’t what you asked, so apologies in advance, but please, check this site out. https://learnjapanese.moe

It kinda teaches you how to learn Japanese without textbooks, using free resources, for example, tae Kim, cure dolly, Anki, and it has a resources page where you can get good resources for free.

  2. [Irodori](https://www.irodori.jpf.go.jp/) is a free textbook by the Japan Foundation that covers the levels A1 and A2 (starters and beginners). It can be downloaded as pdf and also has audio files for listening comprehension.

For beginner fiction books, check out this [link collection of free reading resources for N5](https://dokushoclub.com/free-reading-resources/n5-free-reading-resources/) on my blog. If you already know your kana and a bit of vocabulary, I can recommend the tadoku free graded readers for your very first reading experience.

  3. Tae Kim’s Guide to Japanese Grammar, and also Cure Dolly’s videos (or transcript if you prefer to read) are very good free resources to go with any textbooks you find.

  4. I made a free course, it’s not exactly a textbook, but covers pretty much everything you’d see in a textbook. Also, it’s based on anime and has the original audio associated. It’s flashcard-based though, you need to check if this format works for you: [https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/911122782](https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/911122782)
