Hi!
She will have to get a new card, the card does not automatically convert or at least my daughter’s Suica did not.
However is she older than 12? I asked a similar question about my daughter on Japan Guide and was informed since she was 12 at the time, she was supposed to still be in 6th grade in Japan, which is still elementary school. I do plan to get her a new card on our next trip as she will be officially “done” with 6th grade.
I think your daughter still counts as a child. 12 and over is their phrasing.
