Help me rehome my hamster :(

I got a dwarf hamster from a pet store back in February, but due to a sudden emergency I will be leaving Japan at the end of June. I researched if it was possible to take him with me but unfortunately that’s not an option, so here I am.

I’m a bit iffy about giving him away through jimoty so I thought it was worth asking here first. I’m mainly asking for options but if any of you would like to take him I would be happy to give him to you. Cage + other supplies are of course included.

I’m currently located in the Tokyo – Ueno area, but willing to go anywhere within the city if transport is an issue. I’m sad that I have to leave him behind after such a short time, so I at least want to make sure he’ll be taken care of 🙁

  1. Do you know any families with elementary school-aged children? If so they might be happy to add a hamster to the family!

  2. I can take him. Currently I have rats, but I have had many hamsters in the past (both syrian and dwarf). Of course, rats and hamsters can’t live together, but since you provide the cage that’s not going to be an issue.

I’ll post photos [in my Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/javi_lavandeira/) from time to time, so you can keep track of how he’s doing.

I’m in Saitama, but I can drive to Ueno. Message me if this sounds ok.

  3. Your hamster doesn’t have to leave the country for a new CoE but he needs to notify immigration within 14 days and then provide information regarding new owner’s company.

  4. My wife is a hamster lover. She would be more than happy to be his forever home. I live west of Tokyo can meet up if needed.

  5. If I didn’t have health issues at the moment I would have been more than glad to take him! Been wanting a small pet for quite a while and I’ve had a hamster before, even live right next to a vet clinic. Hope you find him an amazing home. 🙂

  6. Hello! I didn’t expect to get this many offers in less than a day haha, I’ve been busy all day so sorry I wasn’t able to individually reply to each of you. But I’ve been dm-ing people and I’m happy to let you know that he’ll be getting a new home this weekend! Thank you so much to all of you for helping me!
