[URGENT] ABOUT STUDENT VISA EXTENSION

HI I am very very very very stressed!!!!! I need some opinion and help from those who have experienced it before. Basically I got into university and start in September. However, my visa ends this year in July. So I consulted everyone and eventually paid additional 2k to stay another semester in language school (until June) and was told by my uni that I should be able to get a visa extension. The uni and my language school, has not even helped me one bit. In addition for this semester my attendance rate seem to be around the 60s. Should I cancel my visa and just apply for a new COE or should I bet it all on the visa extension? My language school grades are okay… I failed like 2 semesters but eventually passed them.

  1. Attendance rate is a big factor when extending visa as far as I know. Yours doesn’t look good. I had similar rate before and I hired a “行政書士” and eventually renewed my visa successfully.

The cost wasn’t cheap for me, but it was better than leaving Japan first then applying a new visa.

I suggest you to talk with a 行政書士 first, either free or paid. You may find free consultations on your city hall’s website. Here is an example: https://www.earthplaza.jp/forum/consul/

  2. Why is your attendance in the 60s? I think your about to learn a painful but valuable life lesson.

  3. Wait i don’t understand, if you graduated from language school and your university will start in September, can you apply for a visa that just for waiting?
I think if you consult with FRESCO, they will find a way to help you with this problem. I personally don’t have much experiences in this case but I believe you can apply for some kind of visa just to wait till your semester starts. It’s kinda the same with job visa. They have an extension visa for you to wait until you’re actually get hired.
