history of late tax payment and working visa extension

Ok so earlier this year I left Japan for more than 1 month and I missed the deadline of my residence tax. When I came back to Japan they already deducted the money from my bank account (sashiosae). I immidiately paid all of them though. Also, when I changed my company the first time I forgot to report it to nyukan website within 2 weeks, I did it later though.

My 3-year engineer/ humanities visa will be expired in September so I will start the renewing process in June/ July. Will that history affect my visa renew process? Like can I still get a 3-year/ 5-year or they will reduce it to 1-year or even reject it?

Thank you.

  1. The late resident tax might be problematic, but I don’t think reporting job change late is really a big deal. I was late for that twice, one time for a few months, another time for a few days. It never came up and I still got 5 years when I renewed my residence status, and years later I still got my PR in relatively short time.
