How much do Japanese universities value being part of the student council?

17m, high school junior.

We have a student council filing, campaigning, and election for the next three weeks and I would like to know how Japanese *national* universities value being part of the student council. The reason why I’m asking this is because I have to take the EJU about a month from now and I am in a dilemma if I should use my time to work on winning the student council elections or continue studying for the EJU. Please take note that I would be applying to a university this year and I would not be able to submit my eju score if I take the second session for this year. Thank you so much.

  2. I am not a university admission staff but I’m pretty sure EJU scores are much more important than extracurricular stuff, including student council. Not saying that things outside of regular studies aren’t important, but grades and exam scores are the most important.
