Toyko to Kyoto via Mt Fuji 1 same day?

I will be getting the train from Tokyo to Kyoto in August, but would like to stop near to mt fuji. Only to view it, maybe having lunch with it in the distance and then get the train to Kyoto after.

Looking online there’s so much recommendations.

What would be the best way of doing this?

  2. So if you only want to stop along the Shinkansen line, then Shin-Fuji station, but don’t even bother if it’s cloudy as you will see nothing.
