Proving my identity to British lawyers

I know this is my first post but I hope it gets through.

My dad died a while back and I need to prove my identity to his lawyers in the UK by having my passport / recent bank statement verified by a lawyer. Obviously going back and doing it would be better but that isn’t in the cards right now. Has anyone had this experience, or can point me in the direction of a lawyer who will be able to do this? I’m lost.

  1. You mention you are a bit lost, is there any particular aspect you are uncertain on?

Generally in the UK they require two pieces of information to verify your identity, the first is the proof of identity and the second is the proof of address.

I can see they have requested a copy of your passport which is the proof of identity, and they have also requested a recent bank statement which is proof of address.

You can find general guidance on certification here: [https://www.gov.uk/certifying-a-document](https://www.gov.uk/certifying-a-document)

If you are still confused I would recommend reaching out to the lawyers to request clarification/ask any questions you have.
