I’m sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I thought I would try here first. My spouse and I will be moving to the UK from Japan. In order to get our visas, we need to show proof of our marriage. Since we got married in Japan, we’ll need to get it translated. I was wondering if the Koseki Tohon would be acceptable or if the Kon-in Todoke Juri Shomeisho is required. Anyone have experience with this? Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to not be more helpful but in your case I would email the embassy directly. Even if you get the right document, they might or not request the apostille from the ministry of foreign affairs, or an official translation
Check with your Embassy? In my case, the US Embassy provided an “official” translation of our Japan marriage document for the US immigration people.
