  1. I got my My Number (hate the tautology) card for one purpose only: the digital vaccination certificate. Happy to have used that three times for international travel before that whole regime went away. Have been mulling checking out other uses but glad I haven’t actually done anything. The card now goes into a box with warranty cards and kenkou shindan reports and stuff.

  2. You have to be a real idiot to link your bank account to the government’s My Number crappy system given its poor low tech design and reliability. And it seems that there are a lot of idiots here.

  3. I linked mine to a bank account I don’t use with 4600 yen in it. After all the data leaks I don’t trust them as far as I can throw them.

    Here lies the problem, the system should have been totally automated from day one. Each citizen/resident gets a new My Number automatically and it gets sent (automatically) to any agency that requires it.
    No manual data entry should have ever been required.
