I’m leaving to visit my home back in the UK tomorrow for a week. But I’m not sure what health insurance I should use as 1) I haven’t lived in the UK for a few years now so the company I originally used to come out here won’t accept me and AIG won’t accept me since I’m not a permanent resident. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

I use Sompo Japan [https://www.sompo-japan.co.jp](https://www.sompo-japan.co.jp) and paid JPY4230 for an 8 day trip to Europe the other week. Never had to claim anything so I dunno how good they are when things go pear-shaped, and not sure how good their English support is.
You might also want to check if you have a credit card which provides travel insurance.
I’ve used World Nomads for years. Finally had to make a claim last summer and they did actually pay out.
I used MS&AD (Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance) it allows you to remove stuff like death and disability compensation components and keep only stuff like treatment and relief expenses coverage making it much cheaper.
I’ve been using tokio marine nichido (I travel a lot overseas for work) and been using their [marine passport](https://www.tokiomarine-nichido.co.jp/service/travel/kaigai/marinepassport/). Some Japanese is necessary, but what I will say is that I am in the middle of claiming with them and they’ve been very helpful. Even when I was sick overseas they were kind in explaining everything to me and tbh calming me down about my situation.
