Oh it happened

I’m not gonna be on tv because I’m boring and just lied but I got a why are you in Japan sticker now.

  1. Nice.

Getsuyou Kara Yofukashi is my holy grail of TV appearances. Maybe if I spend enough time incoherently drunk in Akabane, at 10am in the morning

  2. I guess it’s a good sign if you didn’t make it on TV, 50% chance that you’re boring, yes, but also 50% chance you’re not cringe enough.

  3. GODDAMNED IT I SAW THEM AT THE AIRPORTS OVER AND OVER FOR YEARS AND THEY NEVER BOTHERED ME I’M SO JEALOUS!!!!1!

  4. I got interviewed the first time I came to Japan and I didn’t get a sticker, I think an acquaintance even sent me a LINE message later saying hey saw me on tv lol

  5. I have multiple fake stories that increase in absurdity in case it ever happens.

  6. I’ve been on the news 4 times but never ran into the “why are you in Japan” guys. My ex got the “can I go to your house?” guys and she declined because she thought I wouldn’t like it. I was disappointed ☹️

  7. I’m boring, too! They never used my video, at least not that I know of.

Did they ask you for “different answers”, too?

For example, they asked me my favorite Japanese celebrity and after I told them, they said choose a different one. That happened twice. Same with food and my hobbies!

At some points they were just basically telling me what to say.

  8. Ha! We got jumped as the only gaijins outside the Meiji Jingu Torii early last year when there were no tourists so we kind of stood out. I pushed my child in front of the cameras and stood aside. Never did get a sticker though.

Should probably have a look for the footage some time and see if they used it!

  9. I’ve been on TV in Japan around 7 times. The first time, when I was studying abroad, an executive at a hedge fund saw me and recruited me and I ended up working there for 6 years.

  10. i once did a super long street interview and they cut it to mere seconds. oh well, lol

  11. Besides random screenings on TV, is there a website or somewhere you can go to see footage/past episodes?

  12. I see them so often in Haneda and Narita!

I was interviewed once on TV back when I was still a student and they gave me a copy on a DVD lol.

I don’t look gaijin enough to get noticed (plus I’ve lived here for too long and am too boring anyway 😅)

  13. I’m still waiting for that Tsurube bloke to knock on the door. I’ve got the Home Alone traps ready.
